Yamaha DVD-S510 DVD Player

The first thing i noticed with this dvd player was the picture quality, it played almost everything thrown at it, even my challenging dvd's like Constantine. My last player has trouble with the blacks in some of the scenes, and really showed up it's flaws. Although it preforms well, I've recently suffered from some reliability issues. After a year of ownership it started making odd sounds and then would eject dvd's for no apparant reason. For the high price it costs (comparatively) and for it to start and then totally break down within 18 months, it's very disappointing. While everything looked fine to start with, I want a dvd player to last longer than this.

That product was the DSP-1 and it's where the Yamaha Electronics UK story begins. Yamaha hi-fi products had been available in the UK via separate distributors since 1975.
