Posted on n/a During the summer myself and my partner visited the local thomson store. With decided we needed a well deserved holida, and decided to book a week long break in Halkidiki in Greece. We only had to sit with the rep for 40 minutes, and by this time we had easily found a hotel that would suit our lifestyle and budget. The travel agents were unable to book the holiday there and then as their computers were down. The package included board accommodation at the hotel, tansfers and of course the flight. When we did arrive in Greece we has to wait 2 hours for the coach to come. The journey to the hotel was only meant to take 45 minutes, 2 and a half hours we arrived at the hotel. With no air conditioning working on the coach we were hot and bothered by this time. We therefore thought air conditioning was included in the price of the hotel, thomsopn didn't inform us we had to pay an extra 10 euros per day at the hotel just for air con. The return to the airport a week later was now better. During all the years I have booked holidays I have never experienced any problems like these. July my husband suffered a heart attack at Antalya airport,we missed our flight and baggage but when he came out of hospital Thomson were not willing to help in any way, we ended up flying to Glasgow at our expense and coaching back to Manchester. The business card we were given at the airport had a Thomson rep phone number in Marmalis and the people at that end said more or less tough luck. Michelle Montgomery Quesnel British Columbia Canada. Shame on you. Michelle User Rating - ...................................................................................................... Posted on n/a I booked a holiday for my husband and myself in Gran Canaria, for 7 days. The appartments according to the on-line brochure were in Playa del inglis. Just where we wanted to go.Shortly before the date of the holiday, I received a 'phone call from Thomson and was told that the appartments were in fact in Puerto Rico. At the time I was reluctant to make any changes so agreed to proceed with the holiday. The total cost was £1060, for the week. On arrival at the appartments we found the accommodation acceptable, if somewhat dated. However the television did not work and only two small hand towels were supplied. these matters were rectified by the helpful staff at the site called Nido del Aquilia. On the 2nd day my husband boiled the kettle, the cordless type, however it did not switch off automatically and on touching the handle my husband burnt three fingers. The handle was as hot as the body of the kettle!. This was reported to reception who said they would attend to it, I don\'t know if they changed the kettle or not but it was no better and we had to use extreme caution whenever we used that damn kettle. Also these appartments have no air conditioning and are like steam ovens at night, so no sleep. A rather disappointing holiday and we have used Thomson in the past and generally have been very pleased with them.
