 Facts

A skateboard is basically made up of three items,

  • 1 deck
  • 2 trucks
  • 4 wheels

A quality skateboard will cost about £100, a deck at about £40, 2 trucks for £30 and 4 wheels for around £20-30. A skateboard deck is made from wood ply pressed together and glued, this makes it very durable, so it can take plenty of abuse. More decks are also concave is shape. Trucks connects the deck to the wheels, and control how agile a skateboard is, they usually range between 4.75 and 5.5 inches. Generally all skateboard wheels are made from polyurethane, this is a hard wearing material which lasts a longtime.
