Sharp VC-M304 Video Recorder

I purchased a sharp vcr in December 2001 in Glenrothes i have been
perfectly satisfied with my purchase up until now as the purchase
was because i had purchased a 302 model and because i found it so
reliable that is why i bought the 304. The vcr is now 20 months
old and has developed a fault in its switch mode causing the functions
of play/record fast forward/rewind to go haywire i phoned mastercare
who quoted me £55 to repair it also if i wanted an estimate
this would cost me £20 but was not returnable if i declined
the estimate yet a sharp approved repairer in Dundee has quoted
me £30 or under to repair the same vcr and if over will give
me a no obligation quote. Why can dixons charge £55 plus another
£20 on top for a estimate (nonreturnable)yet a sharp approved
repairer can quote £30? if i paid the mastercare repair charge
i would be paying almost what i paid for the vcr originally also
this vcr should not be needing a repair after 20 months i would
have expected it to last much longer than this.

Sharp VC-M304 Video Recorder

No problems what so ever from this vcr which I got from Comet.
The machine looks good, is light weight and not too big and has
worked problem free for 4 months. What more could you ask really,
obviously it's just a standard vcr but these days nearly all vcr
are the same apart from videoplus. The only question mark over this
machine is it doesn't have videoplus, but for the price who cares.
Overall value for money.
