Sanyo was founded by Toshio Iue in 1947. The company was incorporated in 1950. In Japanese Sanyo means three oceans - which are the Pacific, Atlantic and Indian oceans. This indicates the great expanses of water spanning the width of the globe, provide an entirely appropriate name for a truly global organisation. Sanyo has 136 group companies in about 27 countries worl-wide. They employ over 50,000 people and are a truly global enterprise, they are therefore conducting research and development, manufacturing and marketing in geographic proximity to the markets they serve. There main claims to fame as a company are in 1952 as they made Japan's first plastic radio, and in 1954 by making Japan's first pulsator washing machine. Sanyo are known for their good ties with Sony, they supported Sony's Betamax in the 1980's, but did not back Sony's Blu-ray Disc.

Sanyo Portable TV
We bought this TV to take in the caravan with us. Sometimes on the
weekends we really want to see something like Match of the Day, but
with didn't have enought room for anything much bigger. But then again
we didn't want anything as small as say a Casio, 14 -17 inch was what
we wanted.
The sound and picture is simply excellent for such a small tv and there
is nothing negative to say about it. The only downside I could say about
it is the build quality, the plastic does feel really cheap and the
overall weight is very light.
