Locally we have a Tesco and Sainsbury right across the road
from each other, and I must admit that I normally shop at
Tesco. The reason being that the majority of branded food
stuffs like Coca Cola and Walker crisps are priced lower.
Tesco also seem to include better offers. But as I do not
like meat and fish at Tesco I decided to check out our local
Sainsburys for a change. The first thing I noticed was that
the Sainsbury's branch did not appear to be anywhere near
as busy as our local Tescos. To begin with I was a little
bit disorientated trying to discover my bearings and locate
everything. The shopping ailes were not as wide as Tesco,
but everything was well presented, and appealing. Sainsbury
seemed to offer more of their own branded food stuffs compared
to Tesco, they had a economy brand, own brand and of course
a premium brand. The bakery section was well stocked, and
the range of Indian foods seemed a high point, I particularly
liked the nan. I also preferred their reward scheme where
they issue vouchers at the cash till rather than posting them
to your home. Overall I found their standard of service to
be very good.

I am a weekly regular, my main gripe is the stock. It seems
every time I visit they sell out of my favourite items and
I need to visit another supermarket to purchase them. They
desperately need to fix their stock checking system. They
could reintroduce rum baba's to the bakery, why they stopped
these I will never know.

They are without competition as the premium national supplier
quality food outlet. No other supermarket can offer the range
of own brand food, with the quality and value for money that
the receive at Sainsbury's on such a massive scale. Even places
like Waitrose and M&S do not equal them for quality in
my honest opinion. And unlike most people think they are not
that expensive. And I am a firm believer that you get what
you pay for. When it comes to food I am not crimping and saving
and filling my body up with crap. If any of my friends would
bother to look they would infact find that Sainsbury do infact
stock economy goods under their own label. And another great
selling point is the actually stores, they are always impeccably
clean and well organised. Surely nothing can be of more importance
than the cleanliness of a food store. You can tell that they
take a certain pride in their appearance, and is not a dirty
hellhole like say Somerfields. Pride yourself on buying quality,
and then visit your local Sainsbury's.

You are only too keen to have our money and supply the Nectarcard
but you are reluctant to tell your customers that you have changed
the rules and they can no longer take out their rewards to spend
at another store in an area where they are holidaying. No, we have
to spend it at our \"home store\" and thereby prevent
us shopping where WE want, we have to shop WHERE you want us to.
You should update your customers, in writing, (for those without
computers) informing them of the stupid rules you are introducing
to help YOU and not the CUSTOMER.
