Yours rights
As of 2008, the following is a general outline of what you should
expect your rights to be when buying online in the United Kingdom
from a UK trader.
- An accurate description of the service or item you are buying.
- Confirmation, either by post or electronic mail of your order
details.
- A period of time, usually named as a 'cool off' period, where
you can rescind your order.
- If you have rescinding an order in due time, you should expect
a full refund.
- You can also demand a full refund if your order does note arrived
at the specified order date.
- If no order date was stipulated, then you can demand a full refund
in thirty days after the order date.
However, the above terms may not be valid for the following
services and goods.
- For a financial product, order via an online bank or insurance
company.
- Auctions from private individuals, they may not be subject to
the Unfair Terms in Consumer Contracts Regulations act of the year
nineteen ninety four.
- Real estate deals, such as purchases land or property over the
Internet.
