We have been using B&Q Multipurpose Compost for a number of years with great success. However, this year the formula has been modified to reduce the peat content. Whilst this is a most commendable move in principle, in practice it has been diasastrous. The inclusion of inadequately composted woody material means that there is a serious nitrogen depletion problem and plants fail to thrive. Experiments with your peat-free compost show an even more dramatic nitrogen starvation effect. Until these problems are adressed we will not be using your compost in future. We just wish B&Q would go back to their previous excellent version of multipurpose compost.
