The Vax is a bag-less cyclonic 'power' cleaner that has 1700 watt motor which sucks like hell!

The unit comes in a kit of parts and takes a few minutes to put together, which can be a bit of a pain, but once it's together stand by for an ear splitting experience.

The machine explodes into action with a continuous roar usually reserved for medium sized jet aircraft. The assault on your ears is nothing compared to the \'beating\' your carpets are about to take.

In about five minutes the 'clean' front room carpet (our recently departed Dyson had been over this the day before - immediately prior to the handle snapping off) gave up enough rubbish to fill a small skip.

The suction from this device is genuinely amazing if a bit alarming as we were convinced for some time that the machine was actually cutting the carpet (like a lawn mower) so much fluff appeared in the canister.

The hand tool is also a very nifty device - a miniature version of the main unit. Don't be fooled.... I was stupid enough to put my hand up to the nozzle to test the suction and am lucky to have any fingers left, it really is a beast.

Downside.... well there has to be one (cos\' it's well priced too).... is the noise of that motor. It is VERY LOUD so much so the kids ran from the room when we first switched it on.

Overall I give it 5 out of 5 because who said vacuuming should be quiet?
