When looking to buy a portable cd player the prices vary greatly
with low end machines costing only £20, compared to the top
end machines costing around £140. Even a low cost portable
cd player will come with features such as a 45 seconds anti shock
system, over-head style headphones included and 20 track programmable
system, random/repeat play and M-Bass technology. When looking at
the top end machines they obviously come with a lot more features
such as optical digital out for direct digital recording, CD text,
remaining battery life indicator, CD-R/CD-RW playback, charging
cradle , carry case and more. The most important thing to consider
when buying high end cd players is the sound quality, we found it's
far superior, and the build quality would indicate that the chances
of it breaking will be less.

Sony D-NE511 discman

My version of this player must be around three years old now,
and it's given me flawless performanced during this period of time.
It didn't cost the earth when I purchased it and combined with the
excellent sound quality was a great buy. The only drawbacks i've
found is the size being a little too big, and it needs a backlit
or a remote for easy access to the play functions. Despite the things
I mentioned i love this player and think it's great value for money,
it has lasted me 3 years.
