There are many different forms of Poker such as Chicago, five card
draw, five card stud, Texas Hold em, Omaha, low ball, seven card,
whiskey poker and strip poker to name a few. Poker was developed
in the USA in the early 1800s and some people believe that Brag

ancestor of poker. Otherwise people that the French game poque is
where poker originates. However most games of poker can divided

Video Poker
I have been to Reno in Nevada quite a few times and have played
video poker a lot there. Video poker is enormously popular with
players the World over as it is your skill that can make the difference
between winning and losing. When I got home from Nevada a few month's
ago I decided to see if I could play this game online. After trawling
through lots of sites I came across 32Red which is listed here at
UK Shop Index. 32Red have their own type of video poker which is
called Poker Pursuit and is Video Poker with a difference, because
you get the chance to increase your stake as the cards are dealt.
Your winnings are based on the Poker Hands. You have no dealer to
beat, you are rewarded on the Poker value of your hand. If you have
increased your bet all the way through you get paid accordingly!
So, the objective is to maximise your winnings and minimise your
losses. Admittedly I am currently losing money playing this game
but it's still great fun and hopefully now I have got a hang of
it I will begin to win.

Texas Hold'em
I am currently looking for a site where I can play Texas Hold'Em,
which is a popular type of poker, and the game played at the World
Series of Poker at the Binion's Horseshoe casino in Las Vegas. Texas
Hold'Em poker is by far the best game for a beginner to learn in
my opinion and also contains the most skill and ups and downs for
any player. Instead of other poker games like Omaha High or 7 card
stud which entail a great many more possibilities for calculating
odds and perhaps even trying to count cards, Hold'Em can be learned
in a few minutes by anyone, and you can be playing fairly well with
a few hours practice. If anyone knows a good site to play Texas
Hold'Em in the UK then please post it on this site, it's very addictive
and I can't wait to return to Vegas to play it.

Summary of Poker
|
|
|
|
Poker is becoming the most popular casino game online. This has
been shown by the massive success of Party Poker, and their floatation
on the London Stock Market. There are also a massive range of poker
programmes on tv, some featuring famous Hollywoods stars such as
Matt Damon. Maybe the programme that started it all in the UK was
"Late Night Poker" on C4. It had a mixture of professional
players and amateur enthusiasts who play Texas Hold'em. This featured
all the UK's major players such as Dave "The Devilfish"
Ulliott, David Colclough, Joe Beevers, Barney Boatman, Surindar
Sunar and Simon Aces Trumper. Alongside the occational US star like
Phil Helmuth Jnr.
