Pod shoes started being sold more widely and becoming more mainstream about the mid 90's along with caterpillar boots, using similar designs and materials.Pod Uk are currently based in the Teesside Industrial Estate, Thornaby-On-Tees, England TS17 9JU. They are still creating shoes to rival those of kickers and caterpillar boots in terms of style and quality of manufacture.

Pod (Product of Desire) the clothing Company is a relatively new designer clothing brand established to cater for followers of Urban Fashion and lovers of the street scene. Pod at the fore-front of high street fashion, teen fashion, and the Urban clothing culture is devoted to making men designer clothing.

They are comfortable shoes with lots of different styles available. They also produce clothes and bags along with other products. I am not sure whether Pod released their shoes first or Kickers but they seem to be very similar in design, price and build quality. I guess my pair of Pod shoes will last a good 5 years or more, like my last pair of Kickers. The thing that seem to go is the rubber soul and not the actual leather upper of the shoe. The rubber gets uneven and therefore uncomfortbale to walk in and look at from behind.
