So far i have been a customer of Phones 4 U for around three and a half years. I know they make a lot of annoying ads for the tv, but at least their shops arent as bad. From reading my latest cataogue they state they are part of the Caudwell Group.I got my first phone from dial-a-phone but was then transfered to Phones 4U as my service provider. For the three and a half years i have been with them I cannot fault them at all. In this time they offered some of the cheapest contracts I have found when searching the high street, and when phoning their customer service and going along to my local store the service has been second to none. I also like the fact that their itemised billing is very good.

Boy did I make a mistake when my contract with Project Telecom on Vodafone reached it's 12 months expiration point. I decided to take out a new contract (still with Vodafone), but didnt to save some cash and look around for a good tariff from another provider. I went down to my local Phones 4U store in Lincoln. As is standard in these stores I was quickly approached by a salesman, and he did seem a bit too pushy for my liking. I would go as far as saying he was arrogant, pushy and partonising. I finally decided I had had enough of the sales tactics with this brand and went back to Vodafone Retail. I may have paid a little more, but the service is top notch and friendly.

I'd heard and read quite a bit of bad press about this company. I watched a bbc2 programme following the sales team and it wasnt pretty. But from my personal experience I have to disagree. Maybe I am just lucky my local store is good one, back in september after i bought my Ericsson it had developed a battery problem. I then quickly took it along to my local Weymouth branch, and have to say wasnt looking forward to it. I imagined they would soo be fobbing me off with excuses and that it was my own fault etc. On the contrary the staff were very helpful and fixed the problem on the spot. They didnt even have to send the handset away leaving causing me to be without a phone for a few days. During the whole time they were helpful and friendly. a big thumbs up.

I bought a phone for my daughter on the 11th of November as a Christmas present, took it home wrapped it up and you guessed it didnt work on Christmas day. Took the phone back to the shop, they said because it was past 28 days the warrenty had kicked in and the phone had to be sent off to be repaired. I explained I hadn't used it, and it had just been wrapped up, as it is now the 19/01/2006 and my daughter is still without her phone. Why is it this firm is so crap, and I would not go near the shop again. Warrington Branch

We started a new contract about 6 months with phones 4u. The sales boy explained everything to us, but he failed to tell us that the contract was for 18 months which we were led to beliwve was for 12 months. This is what we wanted if we new it was for 18 months we would not have signed the agreement which we did not read. We had 2 contracts as we were sitting in the shop we noticed that the sales people were all rushing to serve any pretty girl that came into the shop. I'm not happy, we will not go near the shop again if anybody from phones 4u read this we would like a 12 months contract from the shop, which was Chichester Sussex.

I bought a Motorola V3i from Phones 4U in Kidderminster on 13th May 2006. On the 22nd May 2006 the phone developed a huge crack across the screen. I had not dropped it. I had put it in the glove compartment of my car whilst at a funeral, the temperature in the glove compartment was within the limits set out by the handbook. When I went back to Phones 4U in Kidderminster on the 27th, they told me that I was lying, I must have dropped it and the only way it was going to be fixed was if I paid a £50 excess as part of my insurance. Not only that, but as part of the package I had a Bluetooth headset which didn\'t switch on although I had charged it as per the instructions. When I also bought this up the manager told me I must not be doing it properly. Which I assume means being a girl makes you totally inept at pressing the button on the front. Avoid this company like the plague.

I visted a phones 4 u branch wanting to find a cheaper contract than my current one, immediatly i was approached by a very pushy over friendly salesman. I explained that i wasnt using all my 500 texts and 500 mins on present contract and wanted a lower one that was more affordable about £25 per month. The salesman scribbled on abit of paper and then asked me alot of stupid pointless questions that quiet frankly were none of his business! The other sales people were standing around either talking on their own mobiles or slagging off customers!!I was in the shop for an hour and a half after 5 phones calls and endless pushy over friendly sales waffle i left in a daze with a new phone and a contract that was far more than my current one, 750 mins and 3000 texts at £47 inclding VAT to be procise!!!!They would give me £150 to pay of my current contract but it was upto me to sort that out, and my insurance was more even though i has specified i wanted the same as already paying. Having given it some thought and having looked on vodafones website at cheaper more realistic deals i am going to cancel the contract with phones 4 u. Dont think the salesman will be so friendly this time?!! My advise is to steer clear of this place. Phoners 4 u Chichester branch.
