When browsing the web for 'Peter the Rabbit' books for my
children's I cam across the Penguin website. I actually didn't
realise they sold books direct, I thought they were just a
publisher. The site looks nice and is obviously a professional
setup, all I needed to do was typing in 'Peter Rabbit' in
the search box in the top left had corner and it came up 119
results to pick from. However when comparing to Amazon they
had 967 results for: peter rabbit. The only problem with Amazon
is plenty of their search results are duplicate entries or
books discontinued. Penguin do not seem to have this problem
with all the results being different, with no duplicates.
Luckily I needed item totaling more than £25, which
entitled me to free UK delivery (I think Amazon have a £19
limit which is superior). If I did order under £25:
delivery was £2.50 per basket, plus 50p per item. This
seem quite high in my opinion, certainly more than Amazon
would charge. The book descriptions on the whole were fairly
basic for the books I tried, and none included user reviews.
To be honest I would use Amazon for any title not published
by Penguin. But if your spending over £25 and require
a book published by Penguin then look no further.
