Boxers shorts can also be called 'boxers' or 'loose boxers'. They are a type of underwear for men, which is more loose fitting than say y-fronts which they replaced. in their design they also feature all-around-elastic, which was only originally used by boxers. Hence the name. It's only in recent times the popularity has been widespread, most notably the 1980s Levi ad which contained male model Nick Kamen. The design of boxer shorts usually have an open fly for urinating through, though different manufacturers prefer alternate designs for closing the fly, such as buttons. Present day most adverts on television and magazines display men in boxer shorts, because it has become the most socially acceptable underwear type for men. An advantage of boxer shorts is that most men feel boxer shorts are the easiest type of underwear to take off and on. They basically allow the most freedom. Boxer shorts appear in different styles, colors, and patterns. Designer boxer shorts are becoming more popular for fashion conscience men with brands such as Calvin Klein leading the way. You can also find designer inhouse boxer shorts from high street brands such as Next, Debenhams and John Lewis.
