Posted on n/a The name Mazda stems from Ahura Mazda, the highest Zoroastrian God of reason who granted wisdom and united man, nature and the other gods. It also closely resembles the sound of the company founders name, Mr Jujiro Matsuda. He started the company in 1920 as Toyo Cork Kogyo Co., Ltd. In 2001 the company celebrates 70 years of automobile production. The company first forged a partnership with Ford in 1969, forming an automatic transmission manufacturing joint venture. Ten years later, Ford acquired a 25% stake in Mazda, and the relationship has developed strongly ever since AAI, the companies joint US venture has made well over 2 million vehicles since 1992. User Rating - ............................................................................. Posted on n/a Mazda people do the thinking for you offering you a car with all the
things they like (or they like to sell to you). So there's little to
choose for you, you take it or you don't. But if you choose this car
be warned, it's a giant step back in time (look at the back-seat-construction,
it's never seen before except in the Willy of General Patton). Compared
to my old Mazda 121 (1989) it's noizy and lazy (it feels like a diesel)
and the fuel-consumption is just the same (after 15 years of technical
evolution ? maybe this is a diesel running on regular ?). OK everything
is heavier, it's more car, it's more power, it's certainly more up-to-date,
but I think: if this is the new Mazda-generation, my next car can be
whatever because after one year there's still no love. carol User Rating - ...................................................................................................... Posted on n/a Mazda 6 TS2 136 deisel Not only a handsome car with a purposeful, sporty and mildly aggresive
look, but there's method in the madness with a broad stance, poise,
balance and athleticism - which all makes for a satisfying Guy User Rating - ...................................................................................................... Posted on n/a Mazda MPV 2.3 2004 model Looking for a smart and practical 7-seater, the Mazda may be almost unseen on UK roads but it is well worth considering. The 2.3 petrol model is less popular than the 2.0 turbo-diesel it seems, and both may be withdrawn soon anyway, making our Mazda dealer keen to match the best internet price; so we got a bargain. You would have to drive 100,000 miles to close the price gap between the more economical diesel and this smooth and willing petrol engine. You get so much for your money anyway, with only the one trim level in the range having all of the essentials - ABS, Traction Control and braking assistance for safety; Air Conditioning and a sunroof, CD player and RDS Radio; Alloys and fog-lamps etc. As supply is running low we couldn't get the colour we wanted, but the Silver looks cool with darkened rear windows to block out strong sunlight and prying eyes. You quickly get used to the elevated MPV driving position, and soon forget that its a big car as the handling is so good and the engine quite lively. Sliding rear doors make it easy with the family in tight spaces, a pity the rear door can't be opened from the inside as well. Middle seat has only a lap belt but usually travels folded down as a table anyway. Separate air conditioning controls in the rear prove popular with the littlest ones, but can be overridden from the front if necessary. We've had it two months now with no delivery problems, the build quality
is high and it looks built to last years of family use. Andrew User Rating - ......................................................................................................
