M&S Taunton Somerset Store
Food, excellent, general gents clothing excelent, however,
at 65 i'm no judge on fashion, service, excellent. I ordered
4 pr of trousers on Tuesday and they were in the shop for
me to try on the Thursday, no obligation to buy, you can't
beat M&S for trying! So why did I not try on the trousers
and vow never to visit that store again? Parking is 50P, thats
good. There are 4 clearly marked invalid parking spaces conveiniently
placed against the entrance. Thats good too, but wait, as
i leave my car in an invalid space i'm told that I must pay
50p, or have my car clamped and be charged £90. Before
you ask? Yes, I carry blue invalid car badges. Now I don't
object to paying the reasonable parking fee, i do object to
being suckered into shopping based on the perception and fact,
that thoughout town we park freely in places marked for invalids.
I checked carefully before leaving and there are no signs
stating that in this M&S car park, the accepted rule does
not apply Invalids have to pay. Shoppers beware. Taunton Store

food and drink at M&S
Food and Drink at Marks and Spencers is of high is not the
best quality avaliable for British and in some foriegn countries.
The Specific type of Marks and Spencers store I visit is the
Marks and Spencers Simply Food Stores. This type of store
if in the right location can be very suitable for you.
The products that I recommend including the following:
a: Organic florida orange juice (in the aisle with milk for
example and this tends to cost about £1.99 or £1.19
and even £2.99)
b: Cajun chicken pizzatila warp(this is wonderfall, hand
wrapped and made with delicious cajun style chicken and is
a treat for the eyes and the stomach at the price of £2.90)
c: Thomson green grapes (these grapes either from the USA
or Isreal are delightfull grapes with a distinctive flavour,
althought slightly sour and sweet you may go back and buy
some more, at either £2.49 or £2.99)
d: Pure Kenyan tea (This tea is just divine with a strong
but with an addictive flavour ,it is alos picked and shipped
to the UK within 48 hours of picking for the cost of about
£1.19)
E:Belgian chocolates (These are just great, belgain made
chocolates at your disposal and besides they taste magnificent
and great for sharing or you keep to yourself and at a cost
of, from about £3.00, £5.19 to even £10.89)
I will hope that this will help.

I will give the rating of the above products a 4 out of 5.

General Observation
A few facts that we may or may not be aware of. Fact the
customer of this great retailer is in general over 40 M&S
would like to think younger however this age group is most
loyal. Given this to be true please be aware that as a member
of this group, sadly in some asspects of senses we start to
lose some. Sight is one, fact, how many over 40's do you know
without glasses? Hearing loss is usual and between 40 and
70 the loss is quite dramatic. This being the case I ask a
question. WHY DO YOU DO T.V. ADDS IN A SOFT SPOKEN DEEP LEVEL
VOICE?, I refuse to turn up the volume to listen to an advert.
I will go to the trouble of voicing my complaint because I
think as a household name that seems to be dying on it's feet
you are worthy of better. My local store is supposed to be
a flag ship in the area and to be honest I see so much that
a monkey could put right and management seems to be blind
to the needs of the customer and the staff that are trying
hard as a customer I despair. I have no shares no grudge no
axe to grind at 64, I'm not after a job and I have never worked
for M&S, but would like it to remain as it was 20 years
ago.

I went into my local M&S store to buy a pair of jeans.
And intially I was delighted with the product; right colour;
style; enough material to cover my behind when I sat down;
(I am a woman of a certain age, and have no desire to show
off my underwear!) that is until I turned them round only
to find little embroidered stitched hearts on the back pockets!
This is where M&S falls down in their fashion - do they
honestly believed that any woman over the age of 16 wants
little love hearts on their jeans? Enough said!

Looking for jumpers and tops for work these days is very
hard. Why do all v neck jumpers, or any top for that matter,
have to show off your cleaverage? I don't mind showing a bit
off cleaverage when I go out at night, and there are lots
of tops for this purpose in all the shops, but a little more
decorum for work would be rather nice. Please, please, please,
more clothes for work. And not too tight either, some offices
are rather warm and tight clothes can be very uncomfortable
and certain materials make you sweat more (I know not a nice
subject, but I'm middle aged and menopausal). What I am saying
is that there are loads of shops out there that cater for
modern fashions and the young but please don't forget the
rest of us. Thank you
ps I shop a lot at BHS stese days and they have the same
problem

I have been a regular customer of M&S for more years
than I can mention. However, I still experience the continuing,
twice yearly frustration of the Sale Time.
As a male customer, I regularly use the store in Chester,
Birkenhead and Liverpool and every time I go into the store
at these times,, one thing is screamingly apparent.
Marks & Spencers only care about their female customers.
Reason: At sale time, there are miles and miles of sale racks
for the ladies to select from and this goes on for weeks and
weeks.
For the male customers - Well, this is quite the contrary.
We get offered a few morsels to passify us and this sale
facility lasts for a mere week or so.
I went to the Chester store on Sunday,6th August to find about
10 shirts (all small sized) a load of very shabbily presented
trousers of obscure sizes and junk world cup rubbish that
nobody wants.
Why should I continue to shop at M&S when the world has
lots more to offer.
In these difficult times that M&S are experiencing, how
about showing some consideration for the male populace of
the customer base.
I would truly appreciate a response from M&S on this
matter. Replies please to

I think the Autograph and per una ranges are very good for
over 40's women. Would love to know who plays the music on
the food ads.

I purchased some of the premium range shoes from M&S
8 months ago. The soles have already worn through and when
I commented they said it was reasonable wear and tear. Now
don't get me wrong, I'm 20, not some "back in my day"
old men, but I expect work shoes to last longer than 8 months,
especially since I work in an office and cover less that a
mile a week. Not happy at all.

My daughter bought me some xmas lights last december but as I
had already put some up I left them in the box till this year. When
I opened them the transformer was missing and so the lights wont
work. I tried every shop near me to buy a transformer but none of
them will fit. I have sent 7 emails to marks and spencers and there
respose has been rubbish. Even thought I have the new box that lights
came in they wont replace them. I dont care if they are not the
same ones. I just want some lights that work !!!!
