If management walked around any store any day they would observe things easily corrected and which would be observed by all shoppers. Staff in huddles chatting, even when a customer waiting to be served. Also staff wearing an assortment of variations of uniform. Why can't staff all wear the same? And why have so much stock on rails that it falls on the floor if you even look at it and sometimes when you don't? In these difficult times for Marks a little extra effort goes a long way.
A little while before christmas in Brighton Sussex store, middle of shop floor during a fundraising day, am fat staff member, sitting in a bath of baked beans shouting at customers to buy raffle tickets or scrub his back! It was accompanied by other staff calling out loudly for people to buy tickets. They were having a good time. The customers on the whole were not and I want to ask What? was this done. It was in bad taste, customers were leaving.
