Over the last few years most of you will be aware of all the hype
surrounding lastminute.com. Maybe for all the wrong reasons such
as their loss making record, and complaints that always seem to
plague most large travel companies. My experience booking holidays
with lastminute has been much more positive, with the website always
being a useful resource for me when planning a holiday in either
the next few weeks or days. It really does contain many good bargains.
If havent already guessed by the name Lastminute lists tens of thousands
of late deals for flights, hotel / holiday home accomodation and
your basic holiday packages. You can find all this using their using
a easy to navigate interface. It's all simple to browse. You also
get destination guides and travel tips. Overall it's a well laid
out website with good service and deals.

As an idea for a website Lastminute.com is a great idea. In practice
however they just havent managed to carry this off. Firstly
ive found the site fantastic with a search engine allowing
you to find holidays, hotels, flights. My experience is much
worse, when I ordered my mum and dad 2 theatre ticket vouchers
I was informed they would arrive in post by 23rd maybe 27th.
This was a 3 month period they had to sort everything out
correctly. We got the tickets on the 27th March, luckily just
in time still. I wasnt impressed and wont use them again.

I booked then had to cancel a hotel room with Lastminute
in January 2006.
I accepted the £20 cancellation charge and was informed
that the remaining money would be refunded.
5 months later, despite repeated promises Lastminute still
haven't returned the money. They have amongst other errors
lost my details, not returned phone calls, pretended they
have made phone calls or simply forgotten to do something.
It is impossible to get throught their automated system to
talk to anyone. I can never contact the same person by E-mail
twice and thre is no mechanism for complaint that allows me
to get past the useless personnel in the first place. The
website is specifically set up to prevent complaints being
effectively lodged. They are an absolutely incompetent bunch
or probable liars. I shall be ensuring that no member of my
company ever uses their services again.

Lastminute.com sent me a discount voucher for being a regular
customer. Tried to use it when booking my fourth short break
with them, but their system ate it up and wouldn't complete
my booking. I have emailed them five times about it without
getting a single reply. I have written to them, Recoded Delivery,
and still nothing. In ten weeks of complaining I have not
had a single response back from them.
