During 1996 the motor industry celebrated the centenary of motoring and Jaguar was delighted to mark a family birthday by producing a special commemorative "Daimler Century" model to celebrate the centenary of the Daimler Motor Company of Coventry - the oldest surviving British car marque. The limited edition model - only 100 were built - bore the Daimler hallmark fluted radiator grille.

Model - Jaguar S Type 3.0

I purchased a 1999 model of this jag in 2001 with 19k on the clock. While i've owned the motor it's had a F.J.S.H. First with the problems i've had with the car,

- affected by side winds

- unstable during high speed cornering

- i've had tyres destroyed by extreme uneven wear

- cannot be driven safely even on the very lightest of snow (this has produced some very sticky situations)

- technically the coolant expansion bottle cracked and the air conditioning just packed up.

Before we bought the S type we have owned several other cars from Jaguars. These were mainly the XJ model and I wish I had bought another XJ. The S type was by far the worst car i've owend, and has probably forced me to abandon the Jaguar marque for ever. Our previous XJ40, and XJ8 were both far better cars.
