Posted on n/a A gamepad is an essential component for any console gamer. They are used, but to a lesser extent by personal computer gamers, who tend to prefer the combination of a keyboard and mouse. The gamepad was first invented for it's use on a console, such as the Nes and Snes. Personal computers had used a joystick, and only later did gamepads become available for them. Present day gamepads are far more advanced than they were. For PC gamepads the most obvious improvements are the increase of buttons and wireless capability. Gamepads also come with programmable buttons, via macros. This allows one button to run a command of operations with one click. This can save alot of time and effort for click intensive and repetitive games like massively multiplayer online game. However, the use of programmable macro gamepads can be blocked and lead to IP bans on some online games. The latest development for console gamepads is motion sensor control, where the movement of the gamepad, rather than the use of the d-pad moves an onscreen object. Posted on n/a Logitech Dual Action Gamepad If your a PC gamer then this pad is the cloest your'll find in design to the PS2 controller. As you can see for the picture it's nearly identical. Unlike the PS2 pad it does feature very touchy D-Pad which is a shame. I actually purchased this controller from the Logitech.com website, and needed it for Tony Hawk Pro Skater 4. It includes twelve programmable buttons in all, and is easy to install because it connects to your PC though USB connector. This controller can only be used on a PC, so do not buy it for any Consoles or Macs. Apart from the D-Pad which irrated me I liked the feel and quality of pad, recommended.
