I think Expedia is ideal for those wanting total control over their holiday experience. We have booked a trip across America, starting from New York and finishing in California. We will be traveling by car and visiting as many land marks on our 3 week trip across the States.
We found the cheapest fares around for the flights and hotel rooms at Expedia. They allowed us to plan and book the whole trip from one place. This is the beauty of the site. Maybe we good have found better prices for one or two sections of the trip, but overall we have managed to find good hotels, information, prices, within an easy to use online service.
The site did however provide booking problems of reserving multiple hotels on one visit. But it was slight problem, and only caused a few lost minutes. Maybe the most useful feature was the information provided on each hotel. It really helped our decisions, and hopefully the information will be reliable. Once we have booked it all the e-mail confirmation came within minutes, and luckily no paperwork was required.
We have subsequently found that four out of eight of the hotels we
have been upgraded in. This service is so useful I wonder how many small
travel agents will survive.
