Fifa Football Games

Probably the top series of football games but they have been run very close in the past by games such as Actual Soccer in the early days. I have bought most of the Fifa football games and currently have 2004 on pre-order for the PS2. It's been a mixed bag really with some really bad games such as Fifa 1997 and 1998 and some really great releases like 1999 and 2002. I felt both 1999 and 2002 were the biggest leaps in quality and gameplay of all the Fifa games. I feel that the majority of other Fifa football games were just light upgrades / updates on previous versions and I sure hope 2004 isn't one of these. But if you are new to football games then Fifa must be your first port of call, not always the best at any given time, but on average the best.
