Dyson dc04

We were having trouble with our 10 year old dyson dc04, which appeared
to be losing suction, and refusing to pick up the dog hairs which
it had previously done when new. New filters were installed all
round, but to no avail, the pet hair remained ingrained in the lounge
carpet which was slowly changing colour. I was sitting watching
the football on the television one particular sunday, when my wife
decided to start taking the dyson apart directly in front of me,
which concerned me a little, as i tend to do most of the household
mechanics myself, and i felt that if i didn`t take over that we
would end up with spare parts for a jumble sale or similar. I had
a good look at the parts she had disassembled, and the remnants
of the dyson as it was at that point, and could not find anything
amiss. Until...... i was about to reassemble the unfortunate piece
of machinery. It was at this point that i noticed that the belt
was out of shape, and was in fact pear shaped, with a glazed/worn
area at the top of the "pear".
That's what`s wrong i exclaimed,..the belt has been slipping when
under
pressure, and not turning the brushes when it makes contact with
the carpet!!...a new belt could solve the problem i enthused. My
darling wife, promplty vacated the lounge, and returned 15 seconds
later with a cellophane wrapped brand new dyson DC04 belt. Put this
one on if you think it will help she suggested.!!
Excellent !! was my response, how long have you had that tucked
away i asked?? Well!! i got it as a spare when i bought the dyson
10 years ago !! I found this situation a tad ridiculous, in so far
as i had already taken the dyson apart twice before, and hadn`t
noticed the belt wear, and had no idea that we had a spare belt
in the house.Comparing the two belts, the original one had stretched
to 50% bigger than the new one, and also had the "wheelie"
marks created by the motor spindle spinning on it. Upshot was that
once the new belt was fitted, the brushes again began to function
in contact with the carpet, the 10 year old Dyson took on a new
lease of life, and was good as new with lifting the dog hairs. The
moral of this story if you have a dyson is change the belt from
time
to time.......
Hair today...Gone tomorrow .!!

Dyson dc04

When will I learn. I had a Dyson 01. Spent more time being repaired
than working and never picked up anything but dust. The smallest
papaer particles were too much for it. Well now DC04. To start with
much better. It would actually pick up small pieces of paper. Durability
however is so poor. This one was used in a small church once a week,
doing less than a normal house would do in a day. Out of guarantee
but looking like brand new down goes the moter with total burn out.
Being a do it yourselfer I took it appart. Reason for burn out the
fan had come loose so it was no longer pumping air. That is also
the reason why it had stopped picking up dirt just before failure.
Ah well I hope the 07 I have at home does better but so far a failed
hose, filters that clogg up every few months, I am not hopeful.

Machine does not do what it says on the box. Doesn't pick up dog
hairs (beagle), dreadful on stairs, taking all the bits apart to
try to vacuum under the bed is a pain, constantly looses suction,
very bulky too use, awful machine.
Customer service is non-existant. Motor went 1 week before warranty
expired - rang to book an engineer and was asked what times the
engineer should avoid (like school runs) and guess what, that's
when they turn up!!! When you ring to complain they rebook an appointment
but cannot assure you that an engineer will not turn up during school
run hours again - what is the point of asking what times the engineers
should avoid! You can't speak to a manager as it's company policy
not to give out manager's names. I have spent a fortune on phone
calls and I still cannot get to speak to a manager.
Mr Dyson, you should be ashamed that your company operates this
this. I will never buy a Dyson again and I certainly would not recommend
them to anyone. Overhyped and overpriced.

Dyson DC07

I've owned quite a few so called wonder vacuums with all the fancy
bells and whistles over the years. I started a cleaning service
a few years ago and finally bought the perfect vacuum cleaner. The
Dyson DC07. That's one great "high performance" machine.
Going from one surface to the next without pushing anything. On
stairs just leave it at the bottom and that hose stretches to the
top and then some. It was about $400 but that was the best investment
I've made in a long time.

Dyson Absolute

I got the Dyson Absolute upright vacuum cleaner mainly because
it's lightweight and slimline and is so easy to use and store. It
also features the Dyson Dual Cyclone Technology and this means no
loss of suction and the brush control system which prevents damage
to hard floors. Because I work as a house cleaner during the week
I have gone through quite a range of hoovers / vacuum cleaners.
Out of all the vacuum cleaners I have used, Dyson are probably the
best because you don'y need to buy bags with them and the Dyson
Dual Cyclone Technology means that the loss of suction on early
models has been eradicated. A good value all round upright cleaners.
