About Dick Francis
Dick Francis was born in South Wales in 1920 where he became a child horse racing star. He spent six years in the RAF during the second world war and after this became a professional National Hunt jockey in 1948. Retiring in 1957, Dick Francis became a racing correspondent for the Sunday Express and also a writer of a number of thriller novels.
