The Diadora story began in 1948, by Marcello Danieli, with the production of work shoes and mountain boots. A decisive change transformed the company in the '70s when Diadora realised that its heart lay in the world of sports. The thrill of victory and the achievement of the highest performance in all types of physical challenge became the objective to attain for Diadora.
Diadora have supplied football kits for many clubs across the European continent. But, currently, they are probably best known for supplying kits for referee's. The biggest leagues they supply are the top flight divisions in Italy, Scotland and Romania.
The current head quarters for the company is Giavera del Montello, Italy. Recently they signed a business agreement with Win Hanverky Holdings Limited. They will form a new company with Diadora, and manufacture and market the brand in China and Hong Kong.

Sunderland Home 04/06 Football Shirt
What a disappointment it was that we found out the kit maker had changed from Nike to Diadora. As a major club with a great stadium and set of fans I felt Nike as a kit manufacturer reflected the stature of the club. But then again I suppose it wasn't long ago our kits were made by Avec, so maybe we could have gone much lower than diadora. Brand logo apart, I actually quite like the new design, and maybe like it more than the Nike kit for 03 season. I purchased my kit from the official Sunderland website at safc.com for £35. As it looks like we will be champions this season and gain promotion to the Premiership, lets hope this shirt will provide as much good fortune next year.
