Gray Nicholls Millennium 5

At only £80 it seemed a quality bat, I had been told that narrow, long and straight grains running down the bat were the sign I should be looking for when buying a new cricket bat. It's a slim and light bat, and I find it easy to middle a shot. However the slimness of the bat can also be it's downside, i've noticed that if shots are not hit directly in the middle they go nowhere. Like with most modern bats it doesn't need knocking-in either (which can be time consuming). Of course many state that these new bats do not last as long because of this. For the cricketing novice like myself I would say this bat is ideal, whether a semi-professional would look twice at it is a different matter.

Slazenger v600 cricket bat

It's a very good bat to slog balls with. Normally very light, the price is very ressenable at 50 pounds, so go out and buy this bat.
