Creative Labs SoundBlaster Extigy

I purchased the Extigy soundcard along with the Creative Labs Inspire
5.1 speakers when looking for improving the sound from a new laptop.
Not only was the Extigy an big improvements compared to the old
sound card, but I can listen to Mp3 and watch movie in true 5.1
Dolby Digital sound. The Extigy soundcard is designed for notebook
or desktop users and it installs quickly and easily by USB. A remote
control is standard. It also offers EAX ADVANCED HD music features
such as Audio Clean-Up, Time Scaling and DREAM and can operate as
a stand-alone Dolby Digital decoder for use with DVD players or
entertainment consoles. Overall, sound quality is excellent, but
when playing audio CDs you will encounter an occassional pop or
skip in the music, this could be down to my laptop setup though.
Of course, if you remove "digital audio playback" in your
audio program you'll remedy this. Combine the Extigy with 5.1 speakers
and you won't be disappointed. All in all, I love this product and
it's worth for its price, I highly recommend it to everyone.

Creative Labs SoundBlaster Extigy

I would thoroughly recomend purchasing an Extigy if you like to
here your music clean, clear and crisp because that is what you
get. This piece of hardware is hard to beat for the money as it
incorporates so many features including MIDI and Digital Optical
In/Out so you will have no problems listening to your favourite
music be it through a cheap and nasty Amstrad music centre or a
top notch LINN audio system although the Linn will obviously sound
much better but as sound cards go, unless you want to spend professional
levels of cash, then you can't do better.
