I first purchased something from Cotton Traders when their
catalogue dropped through my letterbox. Their clothes looked
well made and seemed to use tough materials. The offer that
caught my eye was two pairs of chino trousers for over half
price. I paid £12 when the normal price is £25.
You also had the choice of colours to have the chinos in,
there was navy blue, oyster cream colour, light green moss,
a lighter sky blue, and an interesting crimson colour called
sangria. The colours did vary for the men. Came in plenty
of sizes as well, from 10 to 20, the mens also had a wide
size range and I choose one pair of men's chinos for my brother
as a birthday present. Payment is pretty standard with Visa,
Mastercard, Amex or Switch accepted, they also have their
own Cotton Trader Visa payment system. Unlike other stores
online which have delivery cost depending on weight of clothing,
Cotton Traders have a low and very reasonable £2.99
standard delivery, but for this low price it can be a 28 days
wait. I was in no major rush so decided to book the basic
delivery rate, and was over the moon when my parcel arrived
5 days after ordering. The parcel was well packaged and came
with the spring edition of the Cotton Traders catalogue and
my receipt of course. The receipt also needs to be kept because
it includes a tear off section for returns. With clothes returns
can be quite common, especially when buying for others like
my brother. The other sad fact is that with Cotton Traders
you have to pay the postage if you need to return something.
And after reading all the small print on the receipt form
it seems they will not take any responsibility for packages
lost in transit. Due to the returns policy I cannot give them
full marks.

Having ordered 3 items from their spring catalogue, two items
were delivered after 4 weeks with a note advising that the
other order would be delayed by 2 weeks. This elapsed into
2 weeks and after at least 2 phone calls I was told stock
had been delayed again. On phoning after a further 2 weeks,
I was told there were other customers in the line before my
order and it would be delayed again. I therefore cancelled
the order and asked for a refund. This has happened on occasions
to friends that have ordered throught the catalogue. On visiting
their shop at Ashford REtail Park, you cannot get the same
lines !!

Every time i receive a brochure the sizes i require are out
of stock. I have complained about this before and nothing
seems to have changed, why advertise up to 5xl and when you
go on the website to check availabilty you find out of stock.
No plan's to restock, what is the point?

Very poor customer service - the line I ordered did not reach me
in 28 days; after 36 I called them and was told it was out of stock,
although still being advertised on their website. I was told they
could not get the product to me within 10 day, even then! I cancelled
the order. My letter of complaint, asking for an explanation and
full refund has not been answered - although sent 20 days ago. Will
not use again.

I have ordered from cotton traders on several occasions and find
their staff very helpful, however the management is another matter
indeed. i recently had cause to speak to a senior member of staff
and was appalled at their attitude. i got the impression that the
staff are very poorly treated and customers are merely money cows.
i will never order from this company again.
