The alarm clock is a clock that makes an alarm sound at a specific time. The main use of these clocks is to awake people up from their sleep to start their days in the mornings. The traditional mechanical alarm clocks have a bell on top and which rings. During the 1970's and 80's a new device came onto the market, the clock radio, which featured a radio alongside the alarm function. This meant that when the alarm started, the sleeper could awaken to music or news radio. Many people preferred this to the harsh noise of the alarm. Modern clock radios also include features such as single alarm with a lamp and three radio wavebands. Sony have developed a device that has an alarm with an antenna, and is also includes a built in power cord, 3 band radio and dual alarm with 3 band PLL radio. Additional accessories such as batteries and earphones should be considered.

Philips round ball clock radio
It's easy to set the alarm correctly. It is protected by durable plastic casing so if you knock it off your bedside there should be minimal damage to your radio. It is also what is known as being in a pure-solid state piece of kit. I love devices that are well made, and there seems no moving parts to go wrong within this machine. I am very pleased with my player and philips certainly know how to build a quality product.
