Argos now have their catalogue items available on their online
website. If you are looking for electrical brands such sony,
Aiwa, Panasonic and Philips which are in their catalogue you
will now find them at their online catalogue. Argos's online
catalogue has a wide variety of items such as watches, jewellery,
diy brands such as bosch and Black & Decker, children's
toys, computer games consoles such as the Nintendo Gamecube
and much more. Argos's online catalogue if fast, reliable
and convenient. Founded in 1973, Argos was the pioneer of
catalogue retailing in the UK and Argos is one of the UK's
largest non-food retail chains, with sales over £2bn.
They are the number one retailer for toys and small electrical
appliances, and a leading player in many other markets including
DIY and gardening, consumer electronics and furniture. Since
it first started Argos has established a very strong, trusted
brand focused on choice, value and convenience.

Haven't seen anything about this option on this website but
Argos have released a new click and collect scheme where you
can reserve a product online at the Argos website and then
pick it up from an Argos store. Argos state thats its "great
way to shop if you don't want to pay online by credit card,
or if it's easier for you to collect than wait for a delivery".
All you have to do is select the Argos store you want to pick
the product up from and make a note of your reservation number.
After this you have until the end of the next working day
to pick up your reserved product. Seems quite a nice option
if you have a bad credit rating like me and have to pay in
cash, making buying over the net very difficult.

I ordered my psp in advance from this merchant, then I was
told on the day of release they were out of stock. I had been
waiting weeks for this item and then i was told i would be
waiting for at least 2 weeks. Extremely annoying, so many
items seem out of stock here, avoid.

The main issue I have with these guys is the out of stock
issue, I had to wait weeks for my Timex watch to come. I had
to buy from Argos because they were the only people who sold
this model. And it's definitely a good watch for such a ridiculous
price. It also has a it has a chronograph which really is
all you need. It came on time and not damaged, so no problems
there. Payment system was easy to use also.

These people certainly arent the cheapest around, but you
can trust them. And returning items to the stores is a big
plus for me. I got my daughter a Fuji camera from Argos. This
is a great camera for a small child. I would say that ease
of use is the number 1 reason for this. Even I was impressed
by the zoom and date capability. This is certainly another
reason why I purchased this camera for my child. The accessories
it came with were a nice sturdy strap, batteries, film and
a case to carry the camera in. Couldnt be more pleased.

I thought I\'d write and express my utter disgust at the
"service" I have recieved from Argos thus far. I
placed an order in good faith for a weight bench, some weights
and an exercise cycle. I was told they would be delivered
between the hours of 8.00 am and 6.00 pm. I called your call-centre
at 14.00 and then at 15.30 to be told the goods were on their
way. My partner had to take the day off work as we both work
full time. At 5.05 pm I again called the callcentre to be
told that in fact the
goods were not coming to me. When I asked why I was told "I
don't know" before insisting that she found out. After
holding 3 minutes I was told the reason the goods would not
be delivered today. I then asked to speak to a manager to
be told that I couldn\'t and that the manager would tell me
the same thing. When I insisted on speaking to a manager,
I was then put on hold for a further 7 minutes before a chap
called " N*** A**** " anounced that he was the call
centre manager. I expressed my feelings and was told there
was nothing he could do about it. He then said my goods would
be delivered the next day which of course is of no use as
I informed him that I work during the week. I then asked if
maybe I could recieve a call as to what time the goods would
come so that I could take a few hours off. Again "No"
- Point blank. I asked what the complaints proceedure at Argos
was and was told "you just have complained". I asked
for a name and address to send a letter to but was told in
no uncertain circumstances that I was not getting a name,
only an address. I will have no option but to cancel as I
cannot find out a time which this will be delivered and frankly
by the way I was spoken to and my complaint handled, I do
not believe that Argos even care. I will also be forwarding
this email to a contact I have within Watchdog. Unfortunate
that it had to come this far.

Paid for my item 5 weeks ago, was told delivery would be
today 2 dec. Have just rang customer service to be told no
you won't be getting the item today and culd not give me a
date of delivery. I was offered a refund but will hold in
there for another week or 2. But in future i will think twice
about pre-ordering from argos again!

I worked in the argos distribution center in basildon for
2 years, and the whole set up is a con. The out of stock statement
seems to be the only words they know, and that's because half
the stuff in the book you cant get, and then have to get a
cheaper option. It all looks good on the outside but the inside
is rotten.

Argos Direct & Mobile Phone Insurance
Please be aware that if you decide to purchase a mobile phone
insurance from Argos, they will rarely pay out when needed!
Also be extremely cautious when dealing with home delivery
only items. Although these come in a satifactory condition,
the timescales are incorrect. However the stores do an extremely
good, pleasant job with what resources they have, but the
stores are always the face to face people with the customers
whereas insurers and Argos Direct don't get put through disappointing
customers face to face, they can do it at the end of the line!!!
To sum it up, - if you can't get it from an Argos store, don't
Argos it - shop for it!!!

Argos delivered items that were recieved by a neighbour of
mine the problem is that not only did I never order the items
but also that Argos has taken money out of my bank account
for payment, as I have an account with them they know my details.
This means that they are acting illegally and still will not
pick up the goods or give me my money. Small claims here we
come....

Argos website is quick and easy to use especially for click and
reserve and delivery to the door, however some items dont always
show up on a search and it seems more handy to have the catalogue
to hand to check for the code which in some instances, seems to
defeat the object.

Please be warned before you purchase anything from Argos. They
are not interested when things go wrong. I purchased a psp for my
son 1 week before xmas. It has now broken and argos have told me
I have to phone sony. When I phoned Sony they advised that they
would send me a refurb psp. I bought a brand new unused psp and
I expect this or my money back if it breaks down. I then phoned
argos back - USELESS- they advised that there was nothing they could
do. ARGOS ARE CRAP. SPEND YOUR MONEY AT ASDA - NO PROBLEMS WHEN
THING GO WRONG THEY SORT IT OUT. DON\'T SPEND YOUR WELL EARNED MONEY
AT ARGOS - THEY JUST DON'T CARE.

Email sent to argos. Lets hope i get a reply.if not it will be
taken up with my solicitor for loss of earnings.
COMPLAINT *please pass on to management*
I ordered items to be delivered on the 4th june and the 7th june.order
reference number ******. I received the pole from this order saturday
before but not the bamboo blind.i had today off of work so i could
sign for the item and it didnt arrive.i phoned 4 times in the day
to be told the blind had been loaded in the morning and that it
would be with me today *4th june* between 7.00am and 6.00pm. I waited.rang
at 6.00pm again to be told the delivery may be running later for
traffic.i then rang again at 7.00pm to be told it was sent to the
wrong depot and that it would be sent out wednesday!. This means
i have to take another day off work and i would like some form of
recompense for the inconvenience this has caused me.i also asked
the customer services if they could put me through to someone in
authority and they said that closed at 7.00pm *about 5 minutes before
i rung* and that she would take my number and get them to ring me
tomorrow...which means me staying in for another day. So collectively
i will have wasted 3 days waiting for a £8.99 blind! the customer
services employee then put the phone down on me.very rude.im appalled
at the way this has been dealt with and the way i have been dealt
with.may i suggest you put ESTIMATED delivery time on the website
an not a specific date as alot of the time this seems untrue. This
has happened to me 3 times at argos *home delivery*...the last time
the same thing happened with my barbeque and i had to wait another
week after the delivery date to receive it...and then it was the
wrong one!.

Yet again i complain about Argos!
Sorted out the dispute in june *above* and was sent £20 vouchers
as recompense *that makes up for the £320 wages i lost waiting
for delivery again *mmmmmm, anyway its happened again...
Ordered on the 23rd august 2007...£240 worth of items..for
delivery on the 24th august...delivery man didnt knock as someone
was in all day...he/she just left a card to say that they would
deliver the next day as no one was in!..i rang customer services
to complain yet again only to be spoken rudely to from one of the
customer services employees...i cancelled the order as i wanted
it for the next day*mobiles and camera* and also i wouldnt be in
on the next day for delivery as i had to go into manchester for
a few days....anyhow...i rang customer services for 4 days...and
they received the items back on the 29th august *where had the items
been for 6 days!?* was told that when the items returned to depot
they would refund the cost of the items.argos took the money out
of my bank account the day i ordered...as the items didnt arrive
on time or arrive at all i had to go further into my bank account
to withdraw another £240 to go and pick the same items from
a store 15 miles away...so thats £480 out of my bank for argos's
mistakes*i am disabled but needed these items...dont drive..so the
travelling and stress made me have a relapse in my condition*
I have rung argos 'customer services' numerous times up until today...was
told by 1 c.services from the date of return that it would take
up to 10 days for refund back into my account and WAS told that
this included weekends...i have rung c.services yet again and they
said it was 10 WORKING days!i dont believe it! so from ordering
to refund *if i get it back* it has taken 3 weeks for a refund like
i say if i get it.
I have rung yet again to c.services to be talked to very very rudely
by a c.services employee *name obtained* who said before i even
asked that she wouldnt put me throught o a manager because he/she
would say the same thing...how rude!. i mentioned that if it takes
this long for a full refund *was told its my banks clearing systems
fault lol* then how come i had a refund of just the delivery charge
*£4.95* and none of the items 2 days after cancelling? theres
seems to be alot of lets say untruths at argos from the amount or
if at all the items they have/not in stock...untruths from customer
services who may i add are very rude...i asked her to talk to me
like a human being and not to talk to me rudely...she didnt oblige.
Surely i could had had a full refund on the day the delivery charge
refund was put back in my bank? so untrue about bank clearing system
as this proves the point. Anyway rung again and i have to wait for
a refund and it SHOULD be in next wednesday *3 weeks after ordering*
I am copying this website and attaching it to a complaint about
argos to watchdog.
It seems since littlewoods ceased to trade*competition* argos thinks
it can do as it pleases....i am complaining.main thing being that
on the website even in small print it doesnt say how long you have
to wait for a refund...nor about the length of time altogether...ie:the
10 working days claim....argos have missed this out and surely customer
should know about this? anyway i gave argos another chance and its
the last time...it is EVERYTIME I order...and ive lost faith. I
wont give up this time until i have got somewhere with this complaint.
