The price and range is better than the big commercial outlets like
B&Q. They aim squarely at the tradesman or semiprofessional
home diy'er - not ideal for a one off small job because the quantities
you buy are larger to make a saving - wickes also cut back customer
assistance available. They expect you to know your stuff before
you visit, I have however noticed more help leaflets at the check-out
to counter this. I guess they are much more cost effective than
staff - with the saving passed onto you. Most of the stuff is their
own brand - this is where the biggest savings are - for branded
power tools etc. you will not find them much cheaper than B&Q.
If you want to buy in bulk, make a saving, and are content with
a no frills service then look no further.

Customer assistants are woeful and rude - they would not honour
my contractual date of delivery - it was a set-pack conservatory
and due to missing parts they could not deliver in type. From later
research I found they source and buy material on the cheap from
the far east like China and Indonesia. Therefore if they lack stock
of a specific item it takes weeks or months for the stock to arrive
from the other side of the world. The general manager refused a
refund and was quite rude on the phone. I would never recommend
them to a friend.

We bought a fitted kitchen from wickes and was very happy with
the whole process. The quality, price, designer and service was
good - excellent. We had no qualms going back again for a fitted
bathroom. This time it was disaster - the designer was foreign and
struggled with the language - the design process was therefore labored
and subsequently produced countless problems in the build process.
The measurements were wrong - it took weeks to rectify and we ended
up regretting going back to Wickes.

I have used wickes extensively for a large project. Prices are
good and far cheaper than the like of b&q. I have also fitted
a wickes kitchin for my daughter without problems. I wish the range
was a little more extensive - especially insulated plasterboard
forf dry lining.

Wicks Leather recliner sofa
Customer Service is horrible. Sofa was damaged upon arrival, took
8 weeks to get panel in and it was the wrong one. We could return
sofa. gave us a small discount but not nearly enought to make up
for this frustration....as of today, still waiting to have replacement
panel installed. Were supposed to call w/a time, didn't call I had
to call, now my Sat. afternoon is thrown off, since I cannot leave
since they will be showing up. Will never buy or recommend Wickes
Furniture!!!
