Sixt have been operating for nearly one hundred years. They were founded by Martin Sixt. Their first rental station was opened in Munich, Germany. They have since expanded to over three thousand rental stations across the globe, most being situated in Europe. The total number of countries they service is eighty. Sixt are amongst the largest rental companies in Europe for automobiles.

Picked up from Edinburgh Airport, a small discount offer in connection with an airline carrier. The car was defective, the engine didnt have much 'pull'. It was a nail, with a warning light appearing on the dash. The car was in need of maintenance. I needed to travel 100 miles north of Edinburgh to arrive at a hotel, and by 30 miles we had to call roadside assistance. The customer service lady took too long to convince that roadside assistance was needed. Sixt seemed evasive and just didnt wasnt to bother with us. With a weekend break ruined, no compensation, never again.
