First time we visited France we went with SeaFrance, since
that time they keep on sending us these cheap offers in the
post.
So once again for last August we are sailing from Dover again,
we booked about 4 months ago. But due to work commitments
of my husband we realized we needed to change the date we
sailed and our accommodation. With only 3 weeks before we
felt we had no chance, but SeaFrance had no problem changing
the departure date.
Loading time onto the boat and moving through the port took
no time at all, due to traffic jams we only arrived with 20
minutes before sailing time. But the queue was small, the
ticket collector quickly waved us through after checking our
passports and that was that.
The boat itself is fairly average, a cup of tea and a cake
does not cost the earth. The toilets were not very clean,
but I did not expect it to be the QE2. The crossing time from
Dover or Calais was not very long. There were a few shops
to browse, but with no duty free now not very tempting. They
have drink, cigs, perfume etc at fairly competitive prices.
Overall it was another adequate journey, with a good price,
service and friendly staff.
