I first read of the 'Savile Row Company' in early 2005 after
noticing their adverts in the Sunday Telegraph. It was their
special offer that caught my eye, they were offering a free
silk tie for every customer who purchased a each shirt at
their website. Seemed like a worth while deal so I decided
to have a look. This was just about the first time I had ever
ventured online to buy something.
First thing I did was read a little about the company, stated
they had been founded since 1938, so you kind of assume they
should know what they are doing by now. The fact they have
a real world shop also convinces you they are no cowboys.
To be honest I expected something a little more expensive
and fancy from a 'Savile Row Company', most of their shirts
only ranged from £20-40. Not really priced much above
your local M&S. They do not only make shirts and ties
however, you can find all the other staple diet of a gent's
tailor like cufflinks, trousers, sweaters, pyjamas and suits.
There was also a good range of shirts in enough different
styles and colours to suit any palette. But as most men know,
the two most common designs are the plain and striped shirt
with either a single or double cuff.
UK delivery was £4, which seems about a standard rate
I assume. Plus the site provides enough information to make
an informed decision. This includes a size chart, ordering
details and delivery information.
