I have to disagree with the previous reviewer. I have owned
the RBS Advanta card for over 1 year now and it offers an
excellent chance of making money. The fact is it takes a bit
of discipline, but if your careful you can really take advantage
of their moneyback schemes and points schemes. To encourage
you to spend on their card the RBS Advanta card doesn't go
for this. Another great advantage with this card is that it
offers both an interest free period on spending, and an interest
free period on balance transfers, most other cards only offer
one of these. This means you can balance transfer cheques,
all you then do is open a high interest account at RBS, pay
in up to your agreed upon limit and wait for the bill. Once
the bill comes you have to pay it off immediately and do this
for every month. You can invest thousands per year and earn
interest on it for free. I've been doing this all year without
spending to benefit :).

I am a credit card junkie and have gone through many companies.
I do this to get a decent credit card rate, as they always
change at regular intervals. Of course you should never have
an outstanding amount on any credit card bill because it's
just not sensible money management. The interest you have
to pay can really add up, but as we all know any well managed
household budget can have times when money is needed and is
not immediately to hand. It's at these times that a credit
card with a low interest rate can save you large sums of money.
The only RBS card I've owned is their 'Advanta' card, but
that has long gone along with my RBS current account. The
reasons I did not like this card is the unattractive interest
rate after the introductory period, and the way they calculated
interest. Check out providers like egg and and cahoot because
I cannot recommend the RBS Advanta card.
