My wife and myself took an over night trip from Hull to Amsterdam
with P&O Pride of Hull ferry. There was a special offer
in our paper which made it only £66 for both of us.
This covers a three day trip, you spend one day traveling
to Rotterdam, the next day you spend the day at Amsterdam,
then you return home on the third day. There is an option
to spend an extra day in Amsterdam but we didn't want to spend
the extra price of £20 for this. So you are spending
two nights in total in your cabin, it's fairly small with
bunkbeds, but includes everything you need like a shower,
toilet and a basin. I wouldn't exactly call it a mini cruise
like others did on the boat, but you do have entertainment
provided like live music, bingo, cinema, arcade machines for
the kids and big kids, a casino and a couple of bars too if
you fancy a drink. As I am a poor sailor I decided not to
risk drinking over a couple or four :) pints. Unlike cruises
you pay for your meals, they are expensive at £15 to
21.50 per person, but you get plenty to eat. I did read you
could get cheaper meal in the restaurant if you had pre-booked.
Either way I enjoyed the trip, and it was well worth the £66.
