We enjoyed our stay at the Orient Express hotel in Istanbul. The room was a little on the small side, but was comfortable and well furnished with all the typical items like a television, mini-bar, electronic safe, Internet access and air conditioning (a must have for the summer months in Turkey). The food and breakfast were first class with a buffet for continental type foods (no english breakfast here. The staff were also welcoming and friendly and do speak English, German and some French. They helped us locate all of the historical sites in Istanbul, whether it be the Sultanhamet or Taksim tourist areas which include the Grand Bazaar, Spice Bazaar, the Blue Mosque and Aya Sofia. Everything within the hotel was also spotlessly clean, with a lovely swimming pool in the basement of the hotel. We stayed for four nights and this meant they included a free pickup from the airport which was a nice way to begin the break. The hotel is located in the heart of the old Istanbul, so it's the ideal location for tourists.
