They recently rebranded the stores to M&Co, they obviously felt the Mackays name had lost it's street cred, that's if it ever had any. It is about time their clothes were updated, the brand has become a little stale like M&S did five or so years ago. The prices were always moderate but I never found anything which cost my eye when I walked by the window display, the clothes always seemed dated and very frumpy for middle aged ladies. For the first time I entered a store a few weeks ago, mainly because I did not connect the M&Co sign with Mackays, I tried on a few skirts and a blouse, they seemed to fit and the cut was realistic for an average body shape. I also noted that most of the garments were easy care fabrics, I love this manqué as it saves plenty of time when washing. They also have a full refund policy like M&S, the store was also well laid out with plenty of space between the racks. I remember it looking extremely cluttered from the outside like time I looked. I didn't actually find anything which caught my eye, but I will be checking out the store from now on. It's not a shop I will walk past without a glance.

Around 13 years ago Mackays opened a small department store in my local rural town, apart from Woolworths it was only major chain to sell clothes. Unless you went on a 1 hour coach journey there really wasn't any other option.

To begin with the store was packed out, it was a real talking point. The prices were reasonable, the store clean, bright and attractive. Over time the kudos slipped away, the store became dirty, tacky and abit of an eye sore.

So it was a delight when they finally gave it a long overdue makeover, many times I have recently found a new outfit which was just what I was looking for. The quality and price is excellent.

I love M&Co. I always visit my local store every time I hit the High Street for a touch of retail therapy. To be honest for years it was a shop I would walk past without giving it a second glance but one day something caught my eye and the love affair began! I can always find something regardless of the occasion, casual with great fitting jeans and comfy jersey tops or dressing up with some timeless pieces from their Boutique range - utterly divine for the price. The staff in my local store are always helpful, really pleasant and friendly and they take time to get to know their regular customers and point out new arrivals that they know I'll love. On the odd occasion that my store doesn't have my size I've visited their website www.mandco.com and found exactly what I've been looking for. My item arrived well packaged and quickly and I didn't have to pay P&P as I was spending more than £40. I even noticed that you can now get things delivered to your local store for collection free of charge - a real bonus. Even if you haven't shopped in M&Co. before or for a long give it a go, you'll be delighted with what they have to offer, great clothing at great prices and the quality is fantastic.
