I've had the pleasure of staying at quite a few Macdonald Hotels.
They are now among my favourite hotel chains, because I have enjoyed
my stay at every one. Their hotels are situated all over the UK,
due to my work I travel all over the nation and have many overnight
stays at hotels and boarding houses. What you get with Macdonald
Hotels are large guest rooms with all the basic amenities, the rooms
are also nicely laid out with pleasant decor and are spotlessly
clean. On arrival you are also greeted by some of the most helpful
staff you will ever meet, and they always have a cheery smile. It's
a friendly and professional atmosphere, and nothing is too much
trouble for the staff. The hotels are expensive so I only stay at
Macdonald's for a treat, otherwise I usually book into a Ibis or
Comfort Inn. Macdonald hotels have around 60 locations I believe,
and they range from classic rural manor house retreats set in lovely
extensive grounds, to modern and contemporary city hotels based
in the heart of city centres. My favourite hotel to date however
was the Inchyra Grange Hotel based in Stirling, it's a four star
hotel situated in stunning countryside with a swimming pool, tennis
court, great restaurant and bar. A typical price for dinner, room
and breakfast is £180, which can be lower if you book in advance
or find a special offer. In short, you get high quality food, with
a friendly atmosphere, great buildings and locations, and with nothing
to much trouble for the staff. The only downside is the price.
