Recently signed up with Legal & General for our home contents insurance. First tried Barclays but after browsing around Legal & General had a much better deal. They were quick to ensure everything was followed through correctly with the paperwork.
I have never had to claim on home contents insurance before, but a work colleague has. She claimed when her combi malfunctioned and damaged the walls in the upstairs bathroom floors and all her electric's. It was quite a big job because the ceilings needed replacing and a new kitchen, carpets and laminate were needed. She said the overall quote came to something over £8000, so it was a big claim.
Her insurance also put her and her family up in a hotel for two nights while it was all got sorted. Basically she said she was shocked how smoothly everything went, she really expected a battle on her hands like with most insurance claims.
The fact is that Legal & General are a big company, they have been around for a long time and you really would expect they should know what they are doing.
