Posted on 05 / 11 / 2006 The problem is the nuts and bolts behind the site. Btw, I found them on pricerunner, while I was looking for a new LCD tv for my bedroom. The customer reviews were solid and extensive on the price engine's review system. I did not suffer any issues when registering a new account, or paying with my card. I picked the cheapest delivery rate, which was around four pounds, and took between three and five days. I bought the item a couple of days after Christmas, in the Laskys sale period. I waited the five days patiently, expecting it to arrive any day. It did not, I then waited another four days, concluding the holiday period will have delayed the delivery date. Eventually I logged into my Laskys account, to find my order reference number. I called the customer supports department, they were friendly and provided me with a parcelforce tracking code. I then visited the Royal Mail web site, entered my code, guess what?, it produced an error, the system did not know of any such tracking code . Back again to the customer support. This time they were not quite so friendly, neither was I. I then received another tracking code, which proved incorrect again. By now steam was coming from my ear, breath in and count to ten I reminded myself. I phoned Laskys again and demanded to speak to the support manager, the issue was finally resolved. Apparently the item was never shipped, they'd had so many orders for the same product, at the same time. Due to the simultaneous sales, the system threw an error and gave tracking codes for products Laskys did not have in stock. I was finally asked if I wished to cancel the order, or wait for a few weeks for Laskys to gain more stock. You can guess my answer >_< User Rating - ...................................................................................................... Posted on 01 / 12 / 2006 I will give the Laskys customer services department some credit, they responded within a day, and in a courteous and friendly manner. The problem is squarely the fault of senior management and their payment procedures. The Laskys system appears to debit any card immediately, even if the product has recently gone out of stock. Laskys either do not check their stock, or the software they employ for stock checking is bugged. But, the probable answer is this, in my opinion. Laskys senior management know full well that items may be out of stock, but they are more than happy to take customers money any how. They probably conclude the consumer will complain and ask where the product is after 3-5 days, which is enough time for them to get the stock and say its just been put in the post, sorry for the delay. Quite a few shoddy merchants online employ this kind of thinking. Well I was not falling for this trick. I demanded a refund. Can you believe it took three weeks for it to be paid. Laskys take your money, and then make it as hard as possible to get it back and cancel the order. User Rating -
