The staff are among the friendilist I have dealt with. They are very polite, helpful and knowledgeable and are not pushy. They have never let me down and I have got nothing but the highest regard for them all and for Laithwaites as a company. If you are not interested in wine they also have a good selection of beers, spirits and barardi breezer like bottles.
They also tend to run different promotions each week, so there is always a good reason to visit them weekly. On the whole Laithwaites sell wines you will not find in your local supermarket, but like most off licences they find it hard to match the prices of supermarkets such as Tesco for items they both sell (beers and spirits usually).
Because of Supermarkets there is not the demand for off licences there once was.

Laithwaites have a branch at my local small shopping centre. I'm not particularly a heavy drinker, but I have tended to buy wine for special occasions or if I feel I need a treat. I usually pick red wine because that is my wife's favourite, and if you ask the manager or shop assistant they will give friendly advice on what is popular and a good choice. I have not visited another Laithwaites, but the store itself is rather small but they do a good job of stocking it to the brim. Everytime I have purchased using their advice, I have enjoyed every bottle, though with red wine I can often get bad head in the morning.
