The last time I visited Joseph Turner's site was for his spring
2006 special offer. The offer gave 25% off everything you bought
when you spent over £100. Most of their formal shirts cost
at least £50 so spending over £100 is no challenge.
The quality can only be described as exquisite, I have no knowledge
of tailoring but the Turner site provides plenty of information
about the quality of the shirts. They state they are made from 'pure
twofold cotton' and their formal shirts include 'interlined collars'
, 'lock-stitched buttons', ' French seams' and a 'split yoke'. OK
I have no idea what any of this means but I am guessing it's better
than a nylon shirt from bhs.
From checking my credit card statement it looks like it was April
when I bought my shirts. If memory serves me right I think I purchased
two 'Sky Pinpoint Shirts', two 'Wide Blue Herringbone Shirts' and
one 'White Poplin Shirt'. They totaled around £250.00 without
the reduction, but with 25% off the total I saved a sum of around
£62.50. Each shirt also came with a free brushed aluminum
collar which apparently are worth £7.00, so this is an extra
£35.00 saved.
I've worn the shirts regularly for work and to-date they have washed
very well, you would be hard pressed to notice the difference from
new.
Their 25% off offer returns for the winter period of 2006 and I
am sure I will purchase a few more shirts for my collection.
