Homebase at Straiton and Heratage Gate in edinburgh have closed the toilets to there customer with the lame excuse "vandelisim" they are in the middle of no were!!! so I will no longer be able to go with the family. Poor show.

A new homebase has just recently opened in a small town called Newark, i decided to go and have a look around to see if it's any better than the poorly reviewed Focus, and it didn't disappoint. From the moment I stepped into the store to the moment I left i recieved excellent customer service. The staff were very polite and very well organised, they new exactly what they were doing which surprised me being a brand new store. After having a nose around I grabbed my products I wanted to buy and headed to the checkouts, it was a very busy day and there were queues, but the cashiers kept there cool and handled it professionally, a young lad served me, must of been around 16-17 years of age, you could obviously tell theat he was well trained, he new his job and did it well; he apologised for the wait and offered to give me a hand to the car with the compost I bought.
Homebase may not be the cheapest place to shop, but the quality makes up for that. The customer service is excellent and you can tell that all staff had been trained well, Newark has recieved a good quality shop at last, let's hope it's here for good and that prices don't oput too many people off. I'd deffinatly reccommend this store to anyone looking for good quality products, or even good quality advice!

Homebase seem to have created a new website design and I have just noticed a Hot Deals section with products such as Opal 10.5kw Electric Shower HALF PRICE, now only £109, Three Way Ladder, Save 25%, now only £29.99, Kenwood Juicer save 1/3, now only £19.99 and more. Homebase also seem to created a best buys section as well with shopping deals of up to 25% off household products like wooden garden chairs and tables, metal garden chairs and tables and barbecues and low prices on a Black & Decker workmate and Black & Decker cordless drill.
