hotels in 70 countries world-wide.

Hilton Hotels are named after their founder, Conrad Hilton. The chain is now owned and operated by Hilton Worldwide. The hotels themselves can be franchised, operated, or owned by individuals or companies independent of Hilton Worldwide.
The company began it's business in the United States, and one of it's claims to fame, is being the first hotel chain to have locations from the east coast to the west. The hotels are generally marketed to business travelers, the Hilton hotels targeted to leisure pursuits are much smaller.
Due to the companies emphasis on attracting business travelers, many
of their hotels are located at prime posts near airports.

I stayed at a Hilton hotel while traveling on a early morning flight.
The hotels are situated at the major UK airports, and they provide faily
good value for money, with nice airy, clean rooms. My latest stay was
at their hotel adjacent to East Midlands airport, the staff were friendly,
the restauran served good food from the evening carvery. I did not try
a bar meal this time, but on my previous stay the bar prices were a
little on the expensive side. Their bar and meal prices are a little
steep, but all hotels based at airports charge a little more. It's somewhat
like the motorway service stations.
