Posted on 18 / 09 / 2006 There have been one the favourite tailors on Saville Row for a few years now. I avoid all the foreign designer brands like Armani, their showy badges creates an uneasy feeling with many people in my honest opinion. I think with Gieves and Hawkes not only tailor formal wear, but you can find items to wear for any occasion, and unlike with branded designer clothes, they are bespoke. All you have is a quality and welldesigned piece of clothing, there is no hysteria, hype or street cred , you do not get attached with owning a Gieves and Hawkes item. Instead their clothes have been built upon a reputation of quality design and style. You should also always keep an eye on their seasonal sales, especially the January sales, because they have anything in there range which is always expensive with some of their items half price. From my point of view why buy designer clothes for the full price, better to wait a few weeks save alot of money and have something abit different. Do you really want to be one of the million men standing at a bar on a friday night wearing a shirt made by Ralph Lauren, YSL or Paul Smith. The Gieves and Hawkes evening shirts do not have a silly badge on it and thats perfectly fine with me, their range has so much more to offer than a silly badge. They actually have a shirt worthy of a quality that does not require a logo on it. You should reall give them a try, you will stand out from the crowd put some style back into the men's dress community. Forget about the fad for the designer label, and actually buy a piece of clothing with some style.
