After seeing more and more adverts from new telecoms companies
offering lower calls than BT I decided to investigate. My
daughter and son build up a hefty level of calls per quarter,
so finding us cheaper calls could maybe have saved us a few
quid. Well I soon came across Equitalk a few months ago and
they offered lower National and International calls as they
main selling point. This was not my reason for picking them,
it was the monthly £6.99 unlimited UK landline calls
which attracted me. We were paying over £100 per month
with BT so this offered a considerable saving. It did take
two weeks to setup so we have not been using the service for
much over a month yet. But so far everything is fine. They
are an Internet only company, so you will need to sign-up
online. The only downside with the service is that you need
to put a numeric code in front of the phone number when you
dial, but we are willing to do it for cheaper calls.

Like the previous reviewer said they are only based on the
Internet, so it was by blind luck I found them. Before signing
up with Equitalk (I'd never heard of the company before) I
decided to read up on them. I soon discovered they were based
in Oxfordshire, and were also partners with one of the world's
largest telecom networks WorldCom. As they were also part
of the Barclaycard Merchant Services (my bank) I felt reassured
enough to transfer my telecom services from BT. I have been
sold by Equitalk from the beginning, they offer real savings
and with no connection charges it a vast improvement over
BT. I did read a review that suggested you can save up to
89% on your UK calls, and I would not be surprised I save
a figure near that mark. But it's specifically International
calls where the biggest savings are. The website is quite
ordinary and boring, but is ideal for new people to sign-up
with. I would recommend you visit them at www.equitalk.co.uk.
