The Ecommerce Awards are held every year in the UK and Empiredirect.co.uk
scoops the best e-trading award for the UK in the prestigious
government backed ecommerce awards in 2002. In 2002 the Ecommerce
Awards had over 1600 entrants and therefore Empiredirect were
proud to be chosen as the overall national winners and state
they intend to continue setting the standards that make customers
return time and again. The Net magazine said this about Empiredirect
"empiredirect.co.uk was selected as one of the top 20
online stores in the WORLD by The Net magazine. Commending
us on the quality of customer services, prompt delivery, credit
card safety and our great prices." User Rating - Posted on 27 / 07 / 2003 I got this Toshiba system from Empire Direct and it is much
better than my previous one from Goodmans. I think the product
number was 3600PKT for the system but I may be wrong, I got
this system mainly because I have just got a Toshiba 44 inch
rear projection tele but it only has nicam stereo sound. This
isn't good enough for playing dvds in my opinion. Dolby Digital
provides for 5 full bandwidth channels plus a separate low
frequency enhancement channel, together referred to as 5.1
multichannel audio, and with a sub woofer and 5 separate speakers
this creates a great surround sound effect. The quality seems
much better than the goodmans system and the dvd player doesn't
make as much noise, I noticed that on the Goodmans it would
hang in very long films and I would have to restart the dvd
and find the scene I was at, very annoying. Toshiba in my
eyes make TV's and home cinema systems as good as Sony but
at a lot lower price, a must buy for film and dvd fans. User Rating - Posted on 20 / 07 / 2003 Empire Direct have the best prices I have found online for
virtually any electrical product. I have done price comparison
searches on other sites and Empire Direct are just about always
the lowest. I have seen Empire Direct advertise in the papers
and therefore I assumed they were upfront company but I did
still feel a bit wary buying my new £3000 plasma tv
from Empire Direct. I had nothing to worry about though because
the tv got delivered and works perfectly. I just still can't
get over the price of it, £500 lower than the price
of similar shops such as Dixons and Comet. If you want a bargain
check Empire Direct out, I am sure you won't be disappointed. User Rating - Posted on 24 / 07 / 2005 Empiredirect has the most appalling customer service centre.
