I have heard some bad comments about the Dixons coverplan in the
Uk media but my experience has been nothing but good. I bought a
Compaq Presario notebook computer from Dixons for £1295 and
luckily also got the coverplan as well. A month after I got the
notebook I had some sort of hard disk burn out which totally destroyed
the machine. Because the coverplan includes free repairs or replacement
I got the whole unit replaced. I am not sure what would have happened
if I didn't take out the coverplan, maybe £1295 out of pocket
and for that I am grateful for Dixons.

I didn't much like having the Dixons Coverplan forced down my throat
when buying my Compaq desktop pc from them. But after the wife suggested
it was a good idea I took them up on the coverplan. Mainly because
I live in a rough area of Manchester and our house has been burglarised
before. Therefore after some low life broke into our home again
last week and stole our tv, video and pc I was gutted. The only
thing I can be thankful for is the Dixons coverplan on the pc because
the other items taken were not insured. The money Dixons are paying
up will hopefully replace the tv and video and will enable me to
buy a low spec pc. All I can say is you never know what might happen
and it's better to be covered.

4 months ago, i purchased a SHARP laptop computer from Dixons.
I also took out 2 years coverplan insurance. 2 months after i got
it, it got stolen. I contatced Coverplan imediatly informing them
of the theft. They promise to have a replacement product (doesn't
matter what it is) to you in 1 month after reporting. It has now
been 2 and a half months since the theft and i have recieved nothing.
I have contatced them several times, i have had to contact Trading
Standards, and my solicitor on
the matter. This is disgraceful. I recommend that if you purchase
anything from dixons, you do NOT take out Coverplan insurance, but
go to an independant insurance company.

Better than my local high street Dixons if only because that is
a small shop. I am currently unable to drive because of the painkilling
drugs I take for a broken hip bone which has only just heeled. Therefore
I have problems getting to local cities such as Nottingham and Sheffield
and Derby because I find riding on a bus too painful over a longish
journey. I therefore decided to go shopping online for the first
time and picked Dixons because I usually do my electrical shopping
their. I was looking for a new vcr and found the the range of vcr
products and items much better than the Alfreton shop I visit. I
managed to find a Sharp vcr with free delivery and it was delivered
on time with no problem. The overall service was good and much easier
for me with my hip problems. Overall the electrical product and
items online at Dixons is good and worth a visit.

I bought a surgemaster from your H/Pool store, with a computer
which i also bought. However, my computer has been repaired twice
from a local H/pool shop. The shop informed me that the reason my
computer was needing mending was because their was power cuts and
the surgemaster did not work it was faulty. Therefore, i took surgemaster
back to the shop with the telephone number of the computer shop.
They checked the surgemaster and agreed it was faulty in your store.
However, refused to change it because i did not keep the box and
was unable to find the receipt. I thought this was unfair i dont
know anyone who would keep a box or receipt of a surgemaster. I
did not ask them to pay for the bills i have had to pay getting
computer mended i just asked them to replace a faulty piece of equipment.
My family and I have spent a lot of money in your store, however,
i feel your manager needs to go on a training course to teach him
how to treat customers. He was unhelpful and very rude. I did leave
my name and number and he did say he would contact me but i am still
waiting for the call.
